A global debt crisis is stealing hope from the world's poorest people.

In the places SCIAF works, millions of people do not have enough food, water or adequate shelter to live dignified lives. Schools do not have enough teachers; clinics do not have enough safe equipment.

Yet despite this deep poverty, the poorest countries are paying back enormous debts to some of the richest groups in the world. This money should be spent on improving people's lives but is instead lining the pockets of bankers, hedge fund managers and greedy governments.

This is the worst debt crisis in 30 years.

In this Jubilee Year, you can use your voice to create real change with our sisters and brothers overseas - restoring hope in some of the pooerst communities in the world.

At SCIAF, we believe the richest countries, like the UK, should be doing everything they can to support the poorest countries to develop sustainably - especially given their role in driving things that increase the debt burden, like the climate crisis.
