Monthly Prayer: December 2024
Our Bishop President, Bishop Brian McGee recently had the privilege of visiting Zambia and listening to many people who had benefited from SCIAF funded projects.
In Particular, Bishop Brian was struck by the stories of many women who had not received adequate healthcare as they sought help at the time of giving birth.
However, now, in that same village, with the help of SCIAF supporters and our partners in Zambia, a maternity clinic is now providing the help that many women need.
The clinic is now a sanctuary of life and hope for women and their families.
Mary and Joseph did not bring their child, our Saviour, into this world in an ideal environment. Jesus was born into poverty, where animals ate and lived! Yet his birth brings hope for all people. Light into the darkness, Good News to all.
A Saviour has been born for us, Immanuel – God with us.
Pray with Bishop Brian McGee
Mary, our Mother,
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of your Son Jesus,
we reflect on the difficulties you faced.
We seek your intercession.
May our hearts and minds be opened to the many expectant mothers who face great uncertainty giving birth and the mums and dads struggling to feed and keep their children safe.
Help us to love and support our sisters and brothers in need.
Amen
Let us...
Pray for pregnant women all over the world; that they may have safe deliveries and healthy babies
Give thanks for Scotland's safe and accessible healthcare and for the donations that have transformed this clinic in Zambia
Pray that positive changes are made worldwide so that women do not have to fear pregnancy and childbirth
Pray for parents that are struggling to feed and keep their children safe; that they may find ways to protect and nurture their family even in difficult circumstances.
