Caritas Kabwe
Caritas Kabwe is a social action agency and development arm of the Catholic Diocese of Kabwe. It was established in 2012 as the Diocesan Development Office to share in the Social Mission of the Catholic Church in serving people living in poverty and promoting charity and justice among all. Their work covers the promotion of justice and peace through community empowerment, the provision of medical care, and the preservation of natural resources.
SCIAF has partnered with Caritas Kabwe since 2017, focused on running the six-year Scottish Government funded Kumena project, and has supported thousands of families to improve the resilience of their land, and make their income and livelihoods more robust in the face of an uncertain future.
