Education Advisory Group Member

Development education is about far more than just schools. It is our educational approach which leads supporters of all ages to a deeper understanding of global issues and facilitates support for action on these issues. Our approach is informed by the Integral Human Development framework, Catholic Social Teaching and Integral Ecology principles and underpins the entire fundraising, campaigning and communications strategy. Development education is central to delivering SCIAF’s mission in Scotland.

The Education Advisory Group advises the Development Education team, and influences the wider Public Engagement team.  The group meets twice a year via a hybrid meeting (face-to-face in the SCIAF Office in Glasgow, and online) to allow for higher engagement of members from around Scotland.

This role helps us undertake our mission to educate people in Scotland about global issues through development education.

You will need experience of working in education, either formal or non-formal with young people or adults. It will be an asset to have experience of writing or using development education resources with any audience but this is not essential. At this time we specifically welcome applications from those with experience of youth education in parishes in Scotland including Children’s Liturgy.
