The Caritas Cup supports our sisters and brothers in Gaza

23 September 2024

Caritas Cup July 2024 - St Margarets pupils

Faith in football

The Caritas Cup is the brainchild of Adam, Aiden, Bailey and Daniel - four friends and former students of St Margaret's High in Airdrie. It brings together young Catholics to play football and netball tournaments in their Diocese, all in aid of charities such as SCIAF, and other important causes.

In 2024, these knock-out sport competitions will raise money for SCIAF’s Holy Land emergency appeal helping our sisters and brothers who are suffering so terribly at the moment.

Reaching new supporters

This year, for the first time, the Caritas Cup is expanding from its roots in Motherwell Diocese. Schools in St Andrew’s and Edinburgh Archdiocese, as well as Paisley Diocese, will take part too.

At SCIAF, we are incredibly grateful to Adam, Aiden, Bailey and Daniel for their drive and desire to help people around the world, and to bring young people together through sport. Thank you!

SCIAF's work in the Holy Land

SCIAF are working with local Caritas organisations to respond to those most in need across the Holy Land. Our partners and their staff on the ground are providing essential cash-transfers, primary health care and psychosocial support, particularly to children. They are also providing care and support for their staff, ensuring they are able to continue to provide frontline services.
