I love Messi – so I bought a GOAT
20 December 2022
A footie-mad Glasgow man has found a unique way to honour his football hero Messi….by buying a charity goat!
Ciaran Ewins, (56) from Glasgow said: “I am a big fan of Messi and wanted to mark his incredible football achievements in some way. I also haven’t finished my Christmas shopping, so decided to tick both boxes by buying a goat from SCIAF (Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund).
“I bought the goat for my brothers and sisters, as Messi is, in my mind, the GOAT – Greatest Of All Time. Everyone is pleased and I’ve got my mum involved too as she is now buying goats!”
SCIAF has a range of Real Gifts, from seeds to stoves and even chickens and goats. These can be purchased, with the gift being donated to a project where SCIAF works around the world.
Larger gifts like ‘Water for a village’ can be purchased by schools, churches or friend groups. Many of the gifts can be purchased for emergency situations and natural disasters, like the Emergency Response Pack, Shelter for a Family and the Emergency Bundle.
Ciaran added: “SCIAF does such great work all over the world, so it’s nice to help them while honouring my all-time football hero.”
