St Andrews students have a ball for SCIAF
6 April 2018
We are delighted that students from Scotland’s oldest university are holding a ball to raise money to help some of the poorest people in the world not just to survive, but thrive.
The University of St Andrews Catholic Society has very kindly chosen to donate all proceeds from their Canmore Ball on Friday 13th April to our WEE BOX Lent appeal.
The Catholic Society is expecting over 100 students to attend the black tie event at the Hotel Du Vin in the town where they will enjoy a live ceilidh band and charity raffle which promises some exciting prizes.
The Canmore Ball’s Charities Correspondent, Colleen Wilson, told us why the students want SCIAF to benefit from their event: “The Catholic Society has decided to support SCIAF with the proceeds from this year’s ball because we love SCIAF’s faithful mission and charitable values.
“We are delighted to be contributing to SCIAF’s work of supporting and empowering our neighbours all around the world who are tormented by poverty, war, and oppression. This organisation’s work is simply amazing.”
It’s wonderful to have such great support from so many enthusiastic young people. It’s extremely heart-warming to hear how passionate the students are about SCIAF and it inspires us, even more, to keep up the good work.
